Information evenings
Information evenings are mainly for providing information to the parents of a specific grade group as determined by the relevant educators. These evenings are normally within the first two weeks from the start of the new school year.
Parent evenings
During the parent evenings, the parents get the opportunity to talk to the grade educators individually about the progress of their children. The parent evenings of the Foundation Phase are at the end of the first, second and third term and those for the Intermediary and Senior Phase are at the beginning of the second, third and fourth terms.
Term programme
Important dates will be sent out at the beginning of each term. A sport programme will also be sent out at the beginning of each season.
Visits to the school
Parents who visit the school, should please report to the secretary first after they have phoned for an appointment. This will assist the school in the control of and the security at the main entrance. No educator may be visited at his/her class during school hours. However, as we believe in active and involved parenting, parents are invited to contact the office directly to make the necessary appointments.
Parent support
Parents are very welcome at the school and are encouraged to support the events at the school. Their presence at social functions and sport events will be appreciated. Parents are also invited to attend the regular parent evenings. The Prize Giving in November, exhibitions of the learners’ work, Music Evenings, Braai Evenings, Night Marathon, Open Assembly and choir evenings are always worth while attending.
Parents are invited to discuss any problems regarding their children with the school. Our hope is for a long and happy relationship with all parents of Gene Louw learners.
Correspondence
Parents should carefully read and diligently return all slips as requested.
